Yes, this fruit is so amazing that it deserves a post of it’s own. Being a foodie who’s whole instagram feed consists of healthy food posts, I couldn’t wait to try this interesting asian gem. So, I introduce to you the queen of the fruits: Dragon Fruit, also known as Pitaya.
Here is my verdict:
- The peculiar, thick SKIN looked like it was going to be a battle, but turns out it’s only beautiful bravado. If you make a little incision at the top, the rest of the skin peels easier than a wet plaster.
- The white FLESH with black seeds is similar to that of a kiwi, however, I would say that Dragon Fruit is more fibery…is that a word? Now it is. I think it has a high water content, so it’s not tough and you can slice through it with ease.
- The TASTE is super sweet and absolutely delicious. It’s light and crisp flesh melts in your mouth and leaves you wanting more. Too bad they’re 2800won each. That’s about 2,8 US. Definitely worth it, though. It’s my sweet treat 🙂
